INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INTENDING PARTICIPANTS OF COOKERY COMPETITION
Participants have to register online in website www.wbfestivals.gov.in
Intending participants can register their names from 21.11.2017 to 27.11.2017.
There will be three different categories and competition will be conducted on a particular category. 08.12.17 – Chhana, 09.12.17 – fish, 10.12.17 – Meat.
Participant can participate in one category only.
From the registered applicants, twenty participants will be selected in each category by the panel of judges. Regarding selection of Participants in each and every step, final decision will rest on the Festival Authority.
The list of selected participants will be published in the website www.wbfestivals.gov.in on 01.12.2017.
Selected twenty participants will have to bring one cooked dish for competition on the date fixed for each category (as mentioned in Point no. 3) he/she applied.
Participants have to display/serve their garnished cooked dish in front of the panel of judges. Only Induction oven will be provided for heating of cooked recipes. All other utensils will have to carry by Participants for heating, display etc.
Three participants will be selected from each category by the panel of Judges for the Grand Finale on 11.12.2017.
During the Grand Finale, the qualified candidates will have to prepare one starter with Quail Egg and one main course with prawn (sufficient quantity for two persons) in front of the panel of Judges within a time period of an hour.
On the day of the Grand Finale only major ingredients like Quail Egg & Prawn, induction oven and washing facilities (basin & running water) will be provided by the Festival authority. All other ingredients and utensils will have to be arranged by the participants for the preparation of recipes.
The qualified candidates for the Grand Finale will have to submit requisition for required quantity, type & form of fish required for the Grand Finale on the date of their selection for final.
All 20 selected participants will get a certificate from Festival Authority. Three Winners of the Grand Finale will get attractive prizes.
‘Ahare Bangla-2019’ will be inaugurated on 19.11.2019 in the evening.
The Festival will continue for further five days i.e. w.e.f. 20.11.2019 to 24.11.2019.
Expected 50,000 to 60,000 food lovers will come to the festival per day.
‘Ahare Bangla-2019’ will be celebrated in a larger area having a dining capacity of 800 people (approx.) at a time.
Four Hangers will be made as Main Food Court.
Food Stalls will be made within and outside of the hangers.
One restaurateur will be allowed to take only one stall in the hanger or one outside Food Stalls.
Kitchen facilities will be provided to restaurateur having stall in hanger only (subjected to the availability of kitchen). Others will have to use Micro oven and / or induction cooker only.
Decoration and electrical points including two to four power points for Micro oven and induction cooker of the Stalls will be made by the Festival Authority.
Major ingredients of the food served in festivals will have to be sourced (purchased) buy from the Government Organizations as selected by the Festival Authority. Festival Authority will ensure timely supply of these ingredients as per the requirements of the restaurateurs/ caterers / Dessert Bars/ Snacks Bars/ Tea Stalls.
Menu, rate and serving size of the food must be uploaded as per prescribed format at the time of Registration.
Menu, rate and serving size of the food are to be finalized in consultation of the Festival Authority.
Selection of restaurateurs/ caterers / Dessert Bars/ Snacks Bars/ Tea Stalls and allocation of Stalls are the complete discretion of the Festival Authority.
Special Awards will be given for the most popular recipe, best innovative recipeand the Best Restaurant.

Probable date of publishing selected participants: 12.11.2019 (at 5 PM)
Probable Date of meeting with selected participants: 13.11.2019 at 10 AM

AHARE BANGLA - An Innovative venture by Government of West Bengal in the form of a Fabulous Food Festival.
Once again, it's a noble albeit a novel venture by the Government of West Bengal to serve the people with age-old as well as modern delicacies of Bengal-food with an aim to create awareness about the irresistible taste and the convenient source of the food products along with the promotion of the food industry in the state. This pro-people endeavor would also boost up the production and sale of the raw ingredients of the food products resulting in an enhanced remuneration to the farming community of Bengal.
